Local Singer Takes Another Shot at ‘Idol’ Stardom

After Sunday night’s NFL playoffs have determined who will be in Super Bowl XLVI, many local residents will stay tuned to FOX to see if a 4S Ranch teen will make the next step to become the next American Idol.

After making it to the Hollywood round , 18-year-old Kristi Krause gave it another shot and auditioned for season 11 last fall at Petco Park. American Idol will feature the San Diego auditions Sunday night following the NFC Championship Game between the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers.

While Krause is not allowed to disclose how the audition went, she did say that it was “even better than last year,” when she was one of 325 contestants that made it to the Hollywood round. More than 130,000 people auditioned last season.
