Leader No. 29: Sasha Clines Comes Full Circle to Achieve Career Goal

The 29-year-old Francis Parker grad is back at the Linda Vista school as endowment giving chief.

Sasha Clines had a goal of finding a fulfilling career. After working in the medical device field, she found it where her journey began.

Cline, 29, is director of annual endowment giving for Francis Parker School. A graduate of the Linda Vista Road prep school, Clines said it made sense to return to her roots.

“Parker was my foundation and it only seemed right to give back to my roots, which have provided me the skills to be successful in life and business,” she said.

Clines also is involved in Jeans 4 Justice, Women Give San Diego and the Jenna Druck Center’s Young Women’s Leadership Program.

She takes great pride in her roles in these groups.

“Today I would say my biggest accomplishment is when I have youth who I have directly worked with reflect back to me that in some shape or form I have forever changed their lives,” she said.

“Knowing that you can have a transformational impact on someone else’s life is the most rewarding feeling I have felt yet.”

Inspired by her maternal grandmother who died 10 years ago, she said she is “always reminded through stories of her strength.”

Advice for young people:

“My advice to young leaders is threefold. First, don’t be scared to explore many careers and take risks until you find what you absolutely love. Second, surround yourself with people you want to be like. Lastly, don’t underestimate the power of balance.”
