4,000-Pound Gingerbread House on Display in Rancho Bernardo
Rancho Bernardo Inn will host December Days and Nights with a real life-sized gingerbread house.
'Tis the season for candy canes, stockings, and shopping deals but it wouldn’t really feel like December without a gingerbread house.
A life-sized gingerbread house was created and built for December Nights at the Rancho Bernardo Inn.
The edible house needed a total of 4,000 pounds of ingredients.

Here are the ingredients:
- 1,000 pounds Powdered Sugar
- 750 pounds Granulated Sugar
- 500 pounds Brown Sugar
- 24 pounds Baking Soda
- 12 cases of Eggs - (2,160 eggs!)
- 750 pounds Cake Flour
- 750 pounds Bread Flour
- 20 pounds Cinnamon
- 4 pounds Ground Ginger
- 282 Pounds Molasses
- 12 Pounds Vanilla Extract
December Days and Nights will be from Friday, Dec. 21 to Sunday, Dec. 23 from 5 to 8 p.m.
