All local Waste Management operations will be closed on Thursday, November 28, with normal operations resuming on Friday, November 29.

With holiday planning underway, Waste Management would like to share a few eco-friendly tips to green this holiday season:

· Buy locally grown food:  Locally grown food travels fewer miles, thereby using less fuel, and that’s good for the environment. It also contributes more to your local economy by supporting local farmers and merchants.

· Use reusable bags when shopping for your holiday meal: By using reusable bags, you extend the availability of our limited natural resources.

· Right-size your feast:  Plan ahead and prepare a delicious meal that satisfies without leftovers that go to waste.

· Reduce, recycle:  Use cloth napkins and utensils that can be washed and used over and over. Purchase only as much as you need and select products that have less packaging or can be recycled to reduce the overall amount of waste you may produce. Set up a specially marked recycling container to collect aluminum cans and plastic bottles so that they don’t end up in the trash.
