SDSU Course Examines Intensive Italian Wines

Italy is already the second largest wine producing country in the world and its production is expected to rise more than 8% from last year, according to bloomberg.com.

 

SDSU’s College of Extended Studies will examine Italy’s role in the world of wine through its intensive course on Italian Wines that takes place Tuesdays, Oct. 29-Nov. 12, 6-9 pm, as part of the Professional Certificate in the Business of Wine program.

Through extensive tastings, this course will cover the wines of Piemont and Tuscany. Students will learn about varietals, wine production by region, terroir, vineyard sites, and quality levels.

Instructor John Alonge is founder of the San Diego Wine and Culinary Center, as well as the author of The Wine Heretic's Bible.  

 

Students must be at least 21 years of age to register for this course. Cost of the course is $209 or $239 after Oct. 21.
